Insect, Mealworm & Berry Suet Pellets – Suet pellets provide a energy snack for all types of birds. robins, finches, blue tits, great tits and many more.
Allergy Warning – Although it may not be obvious, suet pellets all contain peanuts.
These can be used throughout the year although not on the hottest days unless your feeder is in deep shade. Only put out a little at a time so that they don’t go rancid in the heat and check and clean the feeders regularly. They have a very high melt point though so most British summer days won’t affect them. In winter they are an essential source of fats to help the birds get the energy they need to make it through a cold night. A small bird will eat up to 30% of its body weight during daylight hours in winter so your feeders will be busy. You can feed these from a tube feeder, on the bird table or in your ground feeding dishes.
NB: The packaging – A lot of research went into finding the most environmentally friendly option while still having the strength to hold the weight of product. You can put the bags into your home composting, garden waste bin or into your regular bin. It will take longer to compost at home, but will take approx 12 weeks in a landfill site. It is certified to the European (EN13432) for Industrially compostable packaging.
